With HyperSmooth 6.0, HERO12 Black automatically provides wider shots using video stabilization based on your speed and movement within the scene. Horizon Lock is part of HyperSmooth 6.0, making it easier to maintain a level horizon even when the camera rotates a full 360°.


New Max Lens Mod 2.0 Extends the Field of View

You can now capture the widest, tallest, and most exciting perspectives, including an ultra-wide 177° field of view - all in 4K60 quality. Max HyperSmooth delivers reliable video stabilization in all video modes, making it a great addition for activities like mountain climbing, skiing, and other extreme sports.


HDR Video Support for 5.3K and 4K60

Hero12 Black now supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) video in 5.3K and 4K60 formats, offering greater detail and colors in bright and shaded areas.


Large Image Sensor Allows for Various Aspect Ratios

Use Hero12 Black for a wide range of aspect ratios - choose between widescreen, vertical, or full-frame depending on whether you're recording traditional widescreen clips or content for social media.


10-bit Color Profile and TimeCode Sync

The 10-bit color profile allows for enhanced color depth, smooth transitions, and greater realism. Additionally, pro creators can use GP-Log encoding with LUT to maximize dynamic range before applying color correction. There's also a new TimeCode Sync feature, allowing you to sync multiple Hero12 Black cameras via the Quik app.

Dual LCD Screen and Smart Photo Modes

Enjoy seamless feedback on the ultra-responsive rear touchscreen, and turn on the front screen for taking selfies. Smart photo modes like Hindsight, Scheduled Capture, and Interval Photo allow you to capture every moment just the way you want.


In-Camera Power Tools for Added Creativity

Hindsight lets you save up to 30 seconds of footage before hitting the record button, even if you press the trigger too late. With Scheduled Capture, you can schedule the camera to start recording and automatically capture footage up to 24 hours in advance. Interval Photo enables automatic photo capture at specified intervals while you focus on your favorite activity.
